Brad Ascalon

Brad Ascalon, earned a Masters degree for Industrial Design from New York’s Pratt Institute  (2005), and opened the frequently award winning Brad Ascalon studio in Manhattan 2006.  Brad is a third generation designer, who from an early age learned the values of craftsmanship, materiality and rigor. He works  multidisciplinary and designs furniture, lighting, packaging and other consumer goods. Now, also rugs for Kateha.
With a reductive approach to his craft, Brad believes in design that is uncomplicated,, rational and manages find the perfect balance of form, funstion and concept. Through this approach, and a strong understanding of strategy-driven desgn ooportunities for his clients, Brad Ascalon is widely regarded as one of the leading American designers of his genration. Beside Kateha he today collaborates with idag companies such as Carl Hansen & Son, Haworth, Skandiform and l’Oreal, to name a few. The design of Brad Ascalon has been featured in to publications including Interior Design, Wallpaper, New York Times, Interni, Intramuros and many more. 
In addition to his design practice Brad teaches graduate level design courses at the University of Pennsylvania. In his collaboration with Kateha he has designed  the following rugs:
